It's been a long and busy summer devoid of posts, for a few reasons.... well really only just one. Last week I submitted my final Masters Thesis, presented to a room of my peers and my committee and, pending formatting corrections from the grad school, have officially graduated. Yay! Needless to say, I haven't had the motivation to write much for fun these last few months.
I did some things besides working this summer. While I was still in Eugene, I floated the river...
For the month of July, I was in Montana
again for field camp...
The sunsets were amazing.
like, really amazing.
The clouds were menacing and incredible, as usual.
The rocks were pretty rad too.
We went to Glacier National Park for a few days. A small group of us climbed a fun scramble with a great view...
From the summit of Going to the Sun Mountain.
I went home to Yakima to finish my thesis, and went for a nice hike with friends and family...
Full moon and sunset over Dewey Lake, on the PCT.
Mt. Rainier at sunset from Naches Peak Trail.
I escaped for a weekend to Leavenworth, where we climbed hard slab sport and epic-ed on Dragontail Peak...
Peter, Rip and me on Heart of Gold, 5.10a
Dragontail from Colchuck Lake
Leading the first crux pitch, Serpentine Arete, Dragontail Peak
Colchuck from Dragontail
Unplanned bivvy site.
The summit ridge.
Peter on the summit.
Headstands and Prusik.
I spent a week not sleeping in order to finish my work. Now it is time for a grand adventure, before real life has to happen. More on that later.
